According to The times of India, Dainik Bhaskar and other media, this year’s Char Dham Yatra has broken all previous records, so far 44,80,000 pilgrims have visited the four holy pilgrimage sites. This number is more than the total number of pilgrims visiting the Char Dham Yatra from its inauguration till its conclusion in 2022.

Last year, a total of 44,32,668 devotees had undertaken the yatra from inauguration to completion, but this year new record has been made. Set in just five months.

Char Dham Yatra Pilgrims to exceed 50 lakhs

The Char Dham Yatra, which includes visits to Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath and Badrinath temples, saw a significant increase in the number of pilgrims compared to previous years.

The government had estimated that more than 50 lakh devotees would come this year and it seems that this figure will be exceeded because there is still more than a month left for the doors to close.

Big increase in devotees after COVID-19

This increase in the number of pilgrims comes after the journey was badly affected due to the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 and 2021. In 2022, the government reformed the arrangements for the Char Dham Yatra, resulting in a significant increase in the number of pilgrims

However, this year’s pilgrimage has set a new record, highlighting the continued popularity and importance of the Char Dham Yatra for devotees.
